Modifilan™, produced by the same company responsible for U-Fn, is sold on several different websites – all of which present their product with differing information. Without consistent information available about their source of seaweed and the species used, I couldn’t help but wonder about the integrity of Modifilan™.
Modifilan has some sourcing issues. It is possible that since 2007 anything sold as Modifilan is a cheap impostor and not part of the original formula. Apparently the originator, Maslyukow Yuary Pavlovich seen here, changed the name to BioFilam after trouble with a patent/American distributor. Be careful, the Modifilan sold on Amazon is by Pacific Standard Distributors and maybe substandard quality. I often read product reviews and there is too much confusion over its source.
I know for a fact that the fucoidan in this product is not standardized. In addition, since the brand fails to provide consumers with legitimate facts about the supplement, I cannot regard Modifilan™ as a reputable source of fucoidan. In my experience, products that fail to provide important detailed information are likely trying to pull the wool over our eyes.
Standard Modifilan contains gelatin (beef or pork). I’m not sure why it is necessary to take something vegetarian and turn it into something that is not. However, vegetarian capsules are available upon request.
Conclusion:
I recommend doing more research and waiting until Modifilan solves their sourcing issues. The good news is that right now Fucoidan Force™ provides standardized fucoidan without the sourcing questions. Fucoidan Force™ supplies 400 mg of standardized Organic Super U-100 and 250 mg of Reishi mushroom extract, while disclosing all their supplement facts and manufacturing practices openly and honestly.
